The Foundation of Seek Your Truth
The founder and Executive Director of Seek Your Truth Inc., Shavon White, is the perfect example of how to use your pain and experience to change and impact the world. Her quest of “seeking your truth” began to take on a whole new meaning after she found the courage to leave an emotionally abusive relationship in 2015.
Shavon recognized that there was a world full of women who could relate to her story and felt the urge to empower and support them by cultivating an atmosphere of love, faith, transparency, and sisterhood.
She learned that “God has the perfect fit for you—and that it’s not necessarily the person or thing you try to make fit”. She was inspired by the words of Matthew 6:33 which the Lord placed on her heart, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” and the support she gained from her sisters in Christ, Shavon gave birth to Seek Your Truth.
In this day and age, women value the openness, safety, and give-and-take of friendship. Through the organization, women will find community, faith, support, and a safe place to heal as they navigate their journeys of self-growth. Seek Your Truth desires to encourage women to seek their true selves in who God has called them to be. It believes that no woman should endure the journey of self-identify alone.
The Agenda of the Sisterhood
Since 2016, the organization has consistently offered programs and events to support the women who desire to find wholeness and healing in Christ. Seek Your Truth Inc. has served thousands of women from all over the world through:
Annual Women Empowerment Summits, Conferences, and Brunches: We organize and host annual summits and brunches that serve as platforms to celebrate, uplift, and empower women who have risen above adversity.These events bring together women from diverse backgrounds to share their stories of triumph, provide mentorship opportunities, and offer practical tools for personal and professional growth.
Seek Your Truth Sisterhood Agenda: Monthly support groups, also known as the Seek Your Truth Sisterhood Agenda, which White started in midst of the pandemic to provide an intimate gathering space to fellowship with women who are committed to supporting one another through life’s challenges.
Seek Your Truth Retreat: Our annual retreats to help each woman gain a sense of God’s will for their lives and start a spiritual healing journey by taking time for themselves in luxury to feel refreshed, renewed, empowered, and whole in Jesus. As a result, more sisters to do life with!
Seek Your Truth Gives Back: As part of our commitment to making a positive impact in our community, we collaborate with women and family shelters to uplift, serve, and empower those who have faced adversity. We strive to provide an inclusive and safe space that offers resources and personal development opportunities. Our focus is on catering to their needs, building fellowship, and sharing the gospel. We provide care packages, serving nutritious meals, and organize special events like spa days and career development workshops, etc., all designed to uplift and support them in their journey towards a brighter future.
With women identified as being 60% more likely to experience an anxiety disorder than men, it is important now more than ever to provide a safe and transparent space for women to lean on the support of other women. Having a trustworthy community is vital in preventing women from anxiety disorders that tend to occur at an earlier age in areas of self-identity and self-esteem.
